The Ned Nomad Celebrates One Year

On June 8th, 2023, Richie Akiva’s The Ned NoMad in the historic NoMad district marked its first anniversary with a lavish celebration. Richie Akiva played the perfect host as Moet Chandon champagne flowed freely, complemented by stations with caviar, oysters, lobster rolls, and an array of chef-curated hors d’oeuvres from The Ned.

The décor set a glamorous tone, with gold-themed metallic balloons and sheer draperies adorning the ceiling, accentuated by disco balls. The atmosphere was further enriched by jazz performers serenading the guests upon arrival. Dancers, dressed in champagne dresses and gold glitter attire with extravagant headpieces, took inspiration from the 1920s Ziegfeld Follies showgirls, rotating around the room and performing on platforms.

The soiree took place across various spaces within The Ned NoMad hotel and membership club, including the club atrium, The Library, The Dining Room, and the main bar. The Magic Room became the focal point of the evening’s festivities as the night progressed.

Guests were treated to a comedic interlude by The Ned’s resident comedian, Mike Young, accompanied by Fallon Show regulars Ryan Reiss, Jourdain Fisher, and Sam Woolf. Following the comedy set, illusionist Elliot Zimet astonished attendees with a magical performance featuring white doves.

As the night climaxed, guests were enthralled by surprise performances from iconic hip-hop artists Fabolous and Ja Rule, who performed back-to-back sets. Richie Akiva introduced the artists and emceed the night, ensuring the enthusiastic crowd entertained with music and libations that had everyone dancing. The evening encapsulated an amalgamation of indulgence, entertainment, and celebration at Akiva’s chic establishment.
