A Los Angeles staple, The annual tournament attracts some of the city’s most bright and illuminating. culminating in a great cause. The venue, Avalon, was in full regale, with people streaming in and out, from the casual voyeur to the seasoned poker player. With the grand prize being a private poker lesson with poker stars Tiffany Michele and Mario Ho, as well as a behind the scenes look at the World Series of Poker, the stakes (as cliche as that sounds) were incredibly high. Seeing a plethora of celebs pose for pictures and generally have a good time for an amazing cause was endearing. Hollywood’s newest star Michael B. Jordan was the most affable, taking selfies and generally enjoying himself, while taking in the action. Krista Marie Yu talked a bit about the upcoming season of Dr. Ken, and Vern Troyer made sure to spend as much time with the fans as he could. This was an event that flies under the radar but should not be skipped out on. Events like these showcase more than celebrities’ charitable influences but more likely than not, altruistic natures.

Every year Lupus LA gives recognition to those who strive to make the world a better place for those with lupus. This can be through research, charitable gifts, and spreading awareness. Lupus LA honored the Band From TV and members Scott Grimes, Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, James Denton, Adrian Pasdar and Jesse Spencer.

Get Lucky For Lupus LA Celebrity Poker Tournament and Party was sponsored by fenix cosmetics, Peroni, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, JottShots, and True Religion to name a few.
