Always Striving: A$AP Ferg's PureBOOST DPR

At one point everyone wanted a basketball shoe – and it makes sense why. Basketball players have always been seen as the epitome of the fashion and “cool” meter since Dr. Jay. That has changed throughout the years, and Adidas has been the forefront of that. Now, I know most people will not workout or even run in Kanye’s Yeezy line (I mean who would run in shoes that retail over $750), but that is only one shoe that Adidas has given the market. Also, that is far from the only collaboration. With the release of the PureBOOST DPR, we are seeing another collaboration – A$AP Ferg.

A$AP Ferg has always been the eclectic arm of A$AP Mob, a Hip Hop collective from New York. Between his sharp verses and pro modern style (credit also goes to A$AP Rocky for this), Ferg has made his own lane over the past decade. Seeing his new collaboration with Adidas is a no brainer for me. Going through the promo shots, you see a certain New York aesthetic that you can never ever duplicate in a studio. We see iconic blocks, the Brooklyn Bridge, and of course the notorious stoops. The designs of the colorways perfectly fit a continuous keen eye for fashion, and as we have known over the years, comfortableness is Adidas’ middle name.

A$AP Ferg has teamed up with stylist and running coach Kwasi Kessie who has a pretty impressive resume of 3 New York City Marathons and over 10 half marathons.  Being able to run on a track and the tough streets of NYC is quite a feat (have you ever tried to navigate through tourists on 42nd street?), and the PureBOOST DPR is up to the challenge.

The pink/tan and blue LTD are available now, with white dropping November 1st, and grey on December 1st. Make sure to check out availability at Adidas
