MyMoon: In The Heart Of Williamsburg

Williamsburg is a neighborhood in Brooklyn established in 1664. It is connected to the East Village and the Lower East Side in Manhattan by the Williamsburg Bridge. Celebrities like Mel Brooks and Barbara Streisand were born here.

Today Williamsburg is one of the hottest neighborhoods in New York. Forbes Magazine places the area in third place as one of  America’s Hippest Hipster Neighborhoods.

But, before this new trending influx of upward poshness, Williamsburg was not always as swanky as it is! More than ten years ago, the owners of MyMoon saw the potential in this raw, abandoned, industrial area of Brooklyn. With an eye for character they ventured out to scour the neighborhood for a potential building to call their own.

The famed idiom One man’s trash is another man’s treasure designates a description of MyMoon Restaurant. “In 2003, the owners of MyMoon stumbled upon the crumbling garment factory. Vigilant about remaining true to the original structure and its integrity, the team salvaged and repurposed as much as possible. MyMoon is now a vibrant gathering place featuring masterfully inspired Spanish cuisine and a rockin’ paella by Executive chef Mikel Treviño de Luís.”

The rehabilitated brick restaurant is a direct reflection of the neighborhood’s enduring transformation. From tapas on the deck to entrees in the dining room, MyMoon’s overture is of a luxurious ambience and an exquisite cuisine.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself surrounded by engaging architecture in an awe-inspiring atmosphere with Spanish flair. The interior of the restaurant is chic industrial, with a mixture of leather booths (constructed out of the antique boilers) and sturdy yet tender dark wood farm tables. The outdoor deck charming yet engaging.

With a newly designed menu and more in store for 2015 – MyMoon is the perfect place for any occasion. Whether you host a small table for ten birthday dinner or a 150 guest wedding, MyMoon can accommodate your special day. You will not find PULPO A NUESTRA MANERA for $12 anywhere else in the New York City Area. I highly enjoyed the STEAK TARTARE, which consists of prime grass fed Angus tenderloin, brioche toast, caper berries, grain mustard, crème fraiche & sour cream coulis and quail egg. My favorite dish there is the Fideuà, thin noodles like vermicelli are used instead of rice in the popular dish paella. It is typical of the Valencian Community in Spain.

The drink specials include ANTHOS (art in the age snap, fresh rosemary, ginger, honey & simple syrup) and LA MUJER ( pisco porton, drambuie, strawberries, orange zest, boston bittahs, egg whites, campari) and take MYMoon to another level – leaving Williamsburg once again- on the map!

Chef Mikel Treviño de Luís’  has worked internationally with notable 3 Star Michelin Chefs. “Chef Mikel Treviño masterfully adopts the flavors and sensuality of the Basque and nearby Catalonia, creating a menu of contemporary Spanish cuisine.”

Each dish has an alluring presentation with savory new flavors and zest, you will not be disappointed.
